new wallpaper

One of my most favouritest stock photos from a nearby cemetary. I've never really known what to do with it. It's an actual gravestone carved to look like a tree.... I know, right?! Found the quote while stumbling through internet land.
Messed with some lighting, did some textery things and voila or something. Something like this was 7 layers deep by the time I was done messing about.

A Lil'

A fake album cover, some sort of facebook challenge I did a while back but never posted there. You take randomize wiki, use whatever comes up for the bandname, the last few words from a quote page is your title, and a random flickr photo is your pic.

Tidbits, a little late.

Life has been happening, I’ve been slacking.

BUT LET’S GET INTO IT!

Drunk2

A texture I made while drunk.

Drunk3

The start of a forest scene, while under same drunk. Which is also the same drunk from a while back. I’m not some sort of lush, jeez! *Sips wine*

Nicer In Person

I was gonna start a “Meme/Saying” a day thing. It lasted, you know, until the end of the first day.

And the fun bit: I was tasked with creating an image of David Bowie a la Labyrinth holding a crystal ball, while inside my kid fought a zombie. I gave myself the additional restriction of 5 minutes.

Noelzombiebowiecrystal

AND THEN the image was added to by an awesome dude, who was given more rules: His Glitch character, on top of a palm tree holding a paper plate.

voodoopirate

Clearly he’s much better at this. I don’t care, I’m gonna be jealous and catty and point out that he’s not holding a plate. So THERE!

Untitled-2

I made an old lady font. PRAISE ME!

And that’s it for now. And by that I mean that’s all I can find because my filing system is absolutely horrible.

More tutorial Stuff!

This was the before:Before

This the after:

Finished

Touchups are fun because of just how much work they are. It was neat to follow. Honestly there was nothing wrong with the before, only nitpicky things. And there’s some things I wouldn’t have done like the shadowing on the cheek, but whatevs. I’m trying my damnedest to go by the actual thing instead of winging it. Oh, and there were supposed to be some highlights on her nails and in her hair. I missed something along the way though, so f it.

This one’s actually my favourite:

Cover Finished

You would not BELIEVE the amount of layers this one has. The editing was absolutely amazing and tedious and all kinds of fun. Again, I was going by the tutorial, but it allowed for a ton of leeway so it doesn’t look like their “after” but I don’t care. So far this was the most fun of all the ones I’ve done. But I also love this look, it’s almost like a visual version of glitch electronic music stuff.

See ya later, tutes.

Started in on some of those tutorials I’ve been wanting to do. My goal is to do them all in order as I find them.
I already skipped the first one. Not because I didn’t get it, but because I didn’t finish it before I was all “Yeah, got this.” So, you know, that’s another thing to improve on. Finishing things.
ANYWAYS.
Duotone tutorial. Silly, really, because everyone knows it’s more than just flipping off the colour and then messing with …colour. But it’s still nice to go through the motions, everyone has a different way of doing it.

And now it’s all not even the same! WHOA.

And then a thing where I messed with some things and merged some things and toned some things and did all kinds of things to other things.
Finished (2)
Exciting stuff.
I like tutorials though. They give you practice that you wouldn’t have given yourself normally. So it’s silly to even post them here, but this is, after all, a timeline for personal use more than anything.

Authorising...

Just a little somthin' somethin' to keep me sane occupied.

Slacking on the 'Make Something Awesome' front. I can see all the imperfections here and they bug me, but once I start blogging it, it stays. That's my new credo. Starting now. Because I'm lazy busy.

An offhand comment...

And fifteen minutes of fumbling.

A jellyfish aquarium!

I consider this my first challenge accepted! Not exactly completed, but accepted all the same! Ha!

Wino.

Facing a bit of a block lately. My hands are itching for something to do but nothing was working.
Wine helps.
Let's try not to make this a habit, shall we?

New Beginning. Again.

So. This is how it starts.
Primarily this will allow for a showcase of things I'm making. Whether it be in the digital realm or out in the real world. I finally have the tools I need to do what I want, now it's just a matter of putting it out there.
For my first bit:

A very simple Photoshop inspired by Glitch, which is a very quirky and awesome flash-type game.

It's not really finished, which means I plan on going back to it at some point and playing some more, but for now, it's the closest I've come to finishing anything. The neat thing about this is that it's made up of about 10 different layers. Something this simple. I guess that's the first step when playing around with Photoshop, learning to love layers. I remember years ago that I was afraid of them. Somehow that stigma stayed with me.

This specific zone I was recreating is an area you can only go to by drinking a weird potion and entering a drug-induced area that features laundry, an owl, and here...lemme show you:

I have a few other projects I'm working on, but nothing super serious. At this point I'm simply re-learning the basics and playing around.

If you came here expecting structure, don't. If you came here looking for something amazing, look elsewhere. If you came here because I said "hey look what I did!," thanks for stopping by! Now you can say you did it and move on.
